Hydra-Vital – Hyaluronic Acid Serum*

June 8, 2022

Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

I don’t know about you but ever since I saw Eva Longoria spelling out how to say H-y-a-l-u-r-o-n-i-c Acid (in a certain TV commercial “because she’s worth it”) whenever I read it I can’t help but do that as well!

Anyway, back to me!  When I started my blog it was all about getting the best skin possible and keeping it that way.  And here I am 6 years plus later and the foundations are still the same… Skin First : Make Up second.

What does great skin mean for me? … as I get older it has changed to a degree as I have to accept my skin is aging and lines and sagginess (the worst) are just part of growing up! But for me great skin is soft, smooth and hydrated and for that, (lets say it again!) Hyaluroinc Acid is essential.

You don’t have to take my word for it, google it and you will be able to read lots of evidence backed articles about it’s benefits.  Plus it’s not just good for your skin but taken orally it helps with joints and eye health.  I do like a bit of beauty from within and regularly take collagen supplements, which again I rate, but I think you need to choose the right one and check the actual levels of collagen in the product and of course where it comes from.

Hydra-Vital Hyaluronic Acid Serum

I was recently asked if I would like to try a (new to me) Hyaluronic Acid Serum, a challenge that I was more than happy to accept.  First impressions are all good, this product comes well packaged in a hygenic pump dispenser in a glass bottle and a good 50ml size.

A nourishing skin serum that combines two powerful molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid with plant extracts and Provitamin B5.

The retail price for this (June 2022 is £36) and you can purchase from Modern Herbals, who currenty have an offer for buy 2 get one half price – even better.

First Impressions last

First impressions are important but when it comes to skincare it is the long term we are really interested in.

This serum is a pleasure to use and  is in no way at all tacky or sticky (and I have tried a top end serum that was) and I love the way its oil free texture slips across my skin.  Five pumps of serum are enough for my face and neck – let’s not forget that neck!  When a product feels good and is easy to apply it’s going to fit right in to my routine.

Post application I lock it in with regular mosituriser which is currently a vegan one from the Nature Pure, Cyclax range.  Of course rain or shine if its morning skin care I always follow up with an SPF of at least 30 (usually 50).

At the moment I am using Ultrasun Face Fluid Anti Pollution SPF50+ which along with UVA and UVB protection also protects against blue light as working from home I spend most of my day looking at a screen (or two).

In it for the Long Term

I have been using Hydra-Vital (HA) for about 5 weeks twice a day and I am really pleased with how my skin has reacted to it.  First off no bad reactions, break outs etc and it sits really well under makeup.

My skin feels softer and definitely smoother, and because this is such a lovely product to use my skincare routine has got back again to what it should be, it suffered a bit in lock down to be honest, plus working from home means it is too easy sometimes to just get up and get working.

I’ve got a way to go until this runs out but I do intend to purchase it as I would miss not using it

It’s fair to say my skin has started to bloosom 🌸

Good to know
