I am just back from holiday, well it was a couple of weeks ago however I have been busy at work, too busy really and hence no blog posts for a while
Where did I get to?
Lanzarote, in November which was a good move and I had a lovely time.
One of the many things I love to do on holiday is shop. Not for holiday souvenirs as such I always make a bee line for the chemist/pharmacy and the shoe shops.
Whilst browsing I saw a lot of products containing Aloe Vera as Lanzarote is developing an industry around growing and harvesting the Aloe Vera plant.
I liked the idea of buying a local product to hopefully support the industry of Lanzarote. And as I have before used hair care products by the rather fab Maui (you can read my review HERE) I know it is great for hair.
Aloe Plus Lanzarote
This company, Aloe Plus Lanzarote have quite a few shops which all have a very happy looking Aloe Vera mascot to welcome you in.
I was staying in Costa Teguise which had an Aloe Plus shop but due to having a rather over loaded suitcase at the start of the holiday (way too many shoes!) I made my purchases at the airport
I was really impressed by the range of shops at Lanzarote airport and the view from the bar was one of the best. A great view and my last glimpse of the volcanoes before I left.
This shampoo contains Aloe Vera no surprise there but also Biotin, Keratin and Collagen which are all great for hair bounce.
My hair always looks better on holiday, in part I think because the water in Hampshire, UK is so hard. I am seriously considering buying a filter for the shower – anyone got one and are they worth it?
Aloe Vera in a shampoo does seem to make my hair more manageable. I also really like the scent of this shampoo which I assume is the Aloe.
Packaging is nothing fancy but it does the job and the bottle can be recycled.
This gloopy cream comes in a 200ml tub and whilst they call it a mask it is basically a very good conditioner
Along with the Aloe Vera you have wheat germ oil and Vitamin E which are all ideal for my rather over processed (bleached) hair.
A little bit of soap
Always a safe bet, and very reasonable I purchased a couple of bars of hand made Aloe Vera Soap.
Made from coconut oil, aloe vera, glycerin and perfume without allergens it is good for very dry and irritated skin.
I purchase this for the main man in my life – Bunny my cockapoo!
I know it sounds a little strange but Bun does have very sensitive feet.
During wet winters I tend to get a bit over concerned with Alabama Foot Rot – which is a very nasty condition that can attacks dogs with fatal results.
So whilst me and Bun are lucky enough to back onto woods the condition of Bun getting a ‘Woody Walk’ is that he has to have his feet washed and dried post walk.
He will happily have a bath but does grumble when it comes to feet washing – but he will tolerate (!) a bar of soap gently stroked under his paws.
Talk about over indulged! ❤️🐶
My new holiday resolution
I like the idea of buying local. It makes sense to continue the theme on holiday.
However, it’s good to know that “Aloe Plus Lanzarote ship to Spain and any country in Europe” just in case I don’t go back.
