Cyclax Treatment Hand Cream *

Cyclax hand cream, letter E, Cyclax BoxThis hand cream review is the second product I have been fortunate enough to try from the recently relaunched Cyclax brand.

I have previously reviewed the Cyclax Exfoliator, 2 in 1 Cleanser/Toner and Daily Moisturiser – all great and you can read my review here.

Cyclax may be a new brand to you, or maybe not, it seems to depend on your age.  For some the brand can stir up nostalgic memories of our Mums/Grandmothers who used to use it.  For me, it reminds me of my lovely Mum ??

New to you or not, Cyclax are a brand that I feel offer honest skincare at affordable prices.

I have recently been giving their hand cream a trial, here are my thoughts…

Treatment Hand CreamCylax hand cream and metal capital E

RRP £8.00 for a generous 100ml.

To get the benefit of hand cream you need to apply it (obvs!) but it should not just be a once a day occurrence.

Apply it regularly when you feel you need to but definitely after hand washing, when your hands feel dry or scratchy, or like me when you need a bit of time out.

I also feel that the way you apply it makes a difference too.  I make it into a bit of a ritual, and have a mini zone out whilst I pamper myself.

Also if you are looking to keep your nails in good health then I feel it helps to really massage it in round your nails and cuticles (on top of polish is fine).

I like to think that this action may even help with nail growth as it could improve the circulation – I have no medical proof of this though! – just my theory.cyclax hand cream, nails OPI

When buying a hand cream (and I do often, I have them scattered round the house, in the car, at work, in various hand bags etc).  I look out for a number of things:

  • Has it got a sunscreen/SPF (quite rare)
  • Does it mention nail care – does it contain nail friendly ingredients for example almond oil
  • What is the texture like – it HAS to be non greasy
  • Does it smell nice?

This one doesn’t have any sunscreen properties or SPF.

It does say “treatment”, however on reading the full ingredient list (below) I can’t see anything like almond oil..

Aqua, Isopropyl Myristate, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Lanolin, Cetyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, PEG-20 Stearate, DMDM Hydantoin , Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Parfum, Propylparaben

So I am not sure what the treatment part refers to… just the moisturising properties I guess.

What it most definitely is though is easily absorbed which is essential as whilst over application can be sorted by a quick hand wipe to the elbows, I hate greasy, slippy slidey hands.

Fragrance – none really so I would class it as ‘fragrance free’.

And finally worth a mention again is the price.  A little more than some supermarket hand creams yes but it does I feel,  offer good value for money.

Affordable enough to use regularly throughout the day ?
